一 |     Several Muslim organizations and politicians across India have condemned the brutal killing of a Hindu man in the north Indian state of Rajasthan.,The deceased, Kanhaiya Lal, was a tailor. His killers filmed their barbaric act and posted it online.,The assailants said that their act was in retaliation for the victim's support for controversial remarks about Prophet Muhammad made by former Bharatiya Janata Party politician Nupur Sharma recently.,Condemning the murder, Deewan Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, the chief of Rajasthan's Ajmer Dargah, a highly revered Muslim shrine dedicated to Sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti, said that the Muslims of India would never allow Talibanized mindsets to surface in the country.,"No religion promotes violence against humanity," he said, adding, "Especially in the religion of Islam, all the teachings act as sources of peace.",The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) stated that taking the law into one's own hands is "highly condemnable, regrettable and un-Islamic".,In a statement, Hazrat Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, General Secretary of AIMPLB, said, "It is a grave crime to defame and slander any religious personality. The derogatory words spoken by (former) BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma against Prophet Muhammad are very painful for the Muslim community. The government's inaction against this crime has done nothing but rub salt in our wounds. But despite this, nobody can be allowed to take the law into their own hands by declaring someone a criminal and then murdering them; that is a highly condemnable act.","Maulana Halceemuddin Qasmi, General Secretary of Islamic organization Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, condemned the Udaipur killing, calling it "against the law of the land and the religion of Islam.",Meanwhile, a day after the Udaipur killing, Naveen Jindal, who was recently expelled from the BJP, claimed to have received a death threat from a man named Akbar Alam.,Sharing the screenshot of the email on social media, Jindal said the abusers said now it was his turn and they would come and slit his throat.,On Wednesday, top Hindu organization Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) told Sputnik that it would stage a peaceful demonstration against the "cold-blooded" murder of Kanhaiya Lal, the Hindu tailor, and the Islamic terror organization.,The deceased had allegedly put up a social media post supporting former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma over her controversial remark.,Modi's ruling BJP party has already suspended Sharma and expelled its Delhi media chief Naveen Jindal.,In a statement issued at the time, the BJP had clarified that it “respects all religions” and is “strongly against any ideology which insults or demeans any sect or religion.”,The comments had sparked a diplomatic row, with several Islamic countries registering their strong protests. Massive religious protests were also witnessed in India, which turned violent at some places.,Sharma has been receiving death and rape threats since the controversy erupted and the police have registered a case against her while also providing her security.,Want to know more? Johal was arrested while he was in Punjab for his wedding in November 2017.,The KLF advocates for a separate Sikh homeland, or Khalistan, primarily comprising the Indian state of Punjab. The Khalistan movement in India reached its peak in the 1980s, when a military crackdown on the separatists culminated in the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards, who were unhappy with New Delhi’s actions.,Khalistani Flags, Slogans Found at Himachal Pradesh State Assembly Prompt Police Probe8 May, 08:07 GMT,Johal is one of the KLF aides named in a chargesheet in the killing of Ravindra Gosain, a member of India’s Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), in October 2017. The RSS is the ideological parent of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Johal’s brother in Scotland, who has been running a media campaign, denies the charges levelled against him.,However, his arrest in India, has sparked outrage among Sikh groups in the UK and Scotland, with Opposition Leader Keir Starmer as well as several other Labour Party parliamentarians having urged the Boris Johnson administration to negotiate his release with the Indian government.,“Ministers and officials of the Government have consistently raised the UK’s concerns directly with the Government of India about Mr. Johal’s treatment and his right to a fair trial. We have done so on almost a hundred occasions since Mr. Johal’s detention in November 2017,” Johnson wrote in a letter dated 21 June to Starmer, but it was only reported in UK media on Thursday.,Prior to surfacing of the letter, the United Nations' Working Group on Arbitrary Detention also stated back in May that Johal has been “arbitrarily” detained in India.,It called upon New Delhi to “take urgent action to ensure the immediate unconditional release” of Johal and award him “compensation” as well as other “reparations, in accordance with international law”.,'Promoting Hatred': India Condemns Resolution in US' Connecticut Recognising 'Sikh Independence'2 May, 06:26 GMT,Since his arrest, New Delhi has maintained that Johal’s rights have been respected. At the same time, the Indian government has raised concerns over the activities of Khalistani separatists, many of who are based in the United Kingdom, Canada and even the US.,Johnson was in India for a state visit in April. Back then, he had revealed that the UK was “sensitive” to India’s concerns on Khalistani extremism.,“We have a very strong view in the UK that we don’t tolerate extremist groups. We have set up an anti-extremist task force to help India,” Johnson said during the visit.,More recently, Johnson met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G-7 Summit in Germany this week. As of now, it remains unclear if the issue was raised during the meeting.,Want to know more?
